On one of my first articles for The Kind Bride blog,  I suggested how vegan beauty boxes would make great gifts to introduce your bridesmaids to cruelty-free make up. Posting about it on Instagram, one of my new followers, Molly, reached out to me, saying that has a vegan bride to be, she had no clue where to start with vegan make up.

I’ve never been much of a make up consumer myself, and once I turned vegan in 2014 I switched my existing cosmetics with whatever vegan brand I could find at my local Whole Foods (which I happened to be quite happy about by the way!). Molly’s cry urged me to research more on the vegan beauty universe online, and came to the conclusion that the best thing to do, for a newbie in vegan cosmetics, is to rely on expert hands, the ones that test, review and write about all the newest vegan beauty options available.

But before sharing my vegan blogger must follow picks, let me just remind you that there is a big difference between cruelty-free make up and vegan make up. Cruelty-free make up is not tested on animals, but could still contain animal products, the most common, for example, is glycerin. If you are a vegan purist, always make sure what you are purchasing is marked Vegan.

And now, time to meet (and follow!) the beauty experts and doll up in vegan make up!

Currently splitting her time between SF Bay Area and her native Italy to continue to be her autistic sister’s primary caregiver.
