A few weeks ago, one of our brides to be from our Facebook Community reached out to our private group asking for long lasting vegan deodorant recommendation. All the products she had tested weren’t making her confident they would last throughout her wedding day. A wedding day can be most trying on our sweat glands, as emotions activate the same part of the nervous system as heat and exercise do. The following products, are bride approved vegan deodorants that should get you (and your groom!) through your wedding day without a sweat!
The most popular product among our community members (including yours truly) was Schmidt’s. Founded in Oregon in 2010 by Jaime Schmidt inspired to create an all plant-based natural deodorant that helped keep her family fresh and smell amazing. In 2015, Schmidt’s viral success caught the attention of entrepreneur Michael Cammarata, and together they built Schmidt’s into a natural products empire. Today, Schmidt’s plant- and mineral-based personal care products are available all around the world. When developing their formulas, they prioritize innovative botanicals and mineral-derived ingredients that are packed with healthy benefits for our bodies. Schmidt’s is committed to staying certified vegan and Leaping Bunny cruelty-free. Schmidt’s products are always free of aluminum, propylene glycol, PEG, parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrance, artificial flavor, artificial colorants, and artificial sweeteners.
For Tina, “Schmidt’s sensitive formula has been mine for almost 4 years!“. Rachel says “I can use the regular but my fiancé needs the sensitive formula in order to not get a rash but both work well for us!”. As for me, I love their Lavender+Sage stick and I am currently testing their Charcoal line of toothpaste and body wash (and loving it!).
Among their skin products Alex loves the deodorant in powder form, made with natural ingredients and bacteria fighting essential oils.
The name Weleda traces back to 1921, when it launched as a pharmaceutical laboratory, with its own plant garden. Today Weleda is a world-leading manufacturer of certified natural by NATRUE personal care. Now, not all of Weleda products are vegan. They do use lanolin, goat milk, and beeswax in some of their skin and hair products, but on their helpful website Vegan Guide you can easily find animal-free products.
Sandra uses Weleda Wild Rose and she says “It is my favorite! Plus the container is recyclable or reusable because it is glass.
It is not the most convenient for traveling, so for traveling I use Kopari instead”.
Kopari is a coconut powered, clean beauty brand. Every product starts with 100% pure, organic coconut oil sustainably sourced from small family farms in the Philippines (and $1 from every purchase will be donated to help impact the community from which they source their coconut). And clean beauty means.. no nasty ingredients involved!
MYRO offers a harder-working formula with fewer ingredients than other deodorants. Vegan. Gluten, soy and mineral oil free. Aloe based for a soothing, comfortable glide. No toxic anything! With bacteria-neutralizing citrus, probiotics and sage to keep you smelling great, and natural cornstarch to keep you dry. Myro also offers a refill program option with recyclable deodorant pods that gives them extra points!
Myro is Courtney’s choice: “So far the only thing I’ve like that I don’t notice my stink anymore is Myro. The consistency is like wet but it’s the only thing that works for me“.
Each of Lavanila ingredients is fresh, pure and proven to do what it’s supposed to do. Replacing harsh chemicals with natural technology Lavanila packs their products with high-powered antioxidants, vitamins and natural oils that your skin craves for. Their multitasking products go through extensive clinical testing (worry not, the company is vegan approved!) to ensure that they are safe, non-toxic and non-irritating, even for the most sensitive skin types. All free of harsh chemicals that can dry, damage and irritate the skin and senses.
It’s Elizabeth favorite: “I’ve settled on Lavanilla Sport. It works best for me“.
One last of my personal favorites. When I run out of my Schmidt’z and Crystal stock while in Italy, I go to my nearest Tigota’ Store and grab the Biolis Green Tea deodorant While fighting the bacteria responsible for the formation of bad smells (I tested it in the humid Italian summertime!) it doesn’t inhibiting the natural perspiration of the skin keeping you feeling fresh all day long. Suitable for all skin types.
Bravo to all these companies that are adopting cruelty free practices and being conscious of leaving out any toxic, harmful ingredients from their products! What’s YOUR favorite deodorant? Please share through the comments. Coming soon, we’ll explore fragrances and perfumes, stay tuned!
