While fashion week might have looked a bit different than usual, incorporating digital aspects and forgoing a runway, the beauty looks were all inspiring for spring. Barefaced models took the stage, with an emphasis on natural beauty, fresh-faced looks, and an unfiltered real approach to beauty.
Bold Dramatic Statements
Bold hues are giving us all the spring vibes. Pro makeup artists displayed pops of color on the lids. A dark matte eye shadow like Melt Cosmetics Four Twenty Eyeshadow Palette makes a dramatic statement. Coral and red lips rocked the runway. An exaggerated pout by over lining creates a fuller pout. For everyday wear, try this poppy red toned shade Zip by Glossier Generation G and lightly over line using a similar color to create balance.
Laying It On Thick
This season makeup artists are laying on a thick royal blue shadow with subtle sparkle. After social distancing, people want to dress up and be playful with their appearance. How can this translate to bridal? Instead of opting for 2-3 shades, try choosing one bright color to apply evenly over the eyelid. For a more subdued look, switch out your jet black liner for a deep sea blue hue like Haus Laboratories Eye-Dentify Gel Pencil Eyeliner in Denim Rebel.
This year you’ll be hearing “Iconic” everywhere within the beauty industry. While laminated brows were beginning to be popular last year, the trend is now penciled-in thin channeling your inner Gloria Swanson. The style of the 1920s is being embraced. Keep your brows thin, and pencil in using: E.L.F Cosmetics Instant Lift Brow Pencil. The saying that, “everything old is new again”, is now truer than ever. Widely recognized vintage styles are popular.
Hair Never Felt More Fun
If there was a time to embrace your natural curl, now is the time! Models rocked big hair and long lasting curls on the runway using cruelty-free Prose Curl Cream.
Those that have pin straight hair are opting for perms. Think iconic curly haired beauties like Diana Ross and Keri Russell. For the wedding, style in a mermaid braid or low bun. Face framing curls will give you an iconic style.
A long shag with fringe gives the illusion of an effortless vibe but makes a serious style statement. How to wear this look on wedding day? Make sure your shag has longer layers, to easily clip back with a statement hair accessory.

Bare Faced Skin
Choose one feature to enhance and keep the skin simplistic and bare. A fresh-faced look with minimal foundation is preferred this season. Opt for a light application focusing on radiant skin rather than full coverage. With all the Instagram filters and Photoshop, many makeup artists want to get back to reality. Textured skin, dark circles, and blemishes aren’t something to feel self conscious about. While a little concealer can go a long way, the idea isn’t to completely alter your appearance and to embrace the skin you’re in.
