Weddings are magical, and often a financial burden on the bride&groom and their families. The majority of women do dream of a spectacular, breath-taking dress that will make them feel like a princess, just for one day. But have you thought about how you would feel if you could wear your wedding dress over and over? Let me share a little secret… I actually did. A couple of decades ago, to celebrate my civil wedding I decided to wear a simple cocktail dress of a delicate shade of orange. The reasons for going that route where multiple. First, the ceremony was intimate and a simpler dress felt more appropriate to me. Second, I really didn’t want to be the center of attention when we were strolling the busy Italian streets heading to the City Hall, and I wanted to enjoy our following “ice-cream party celebration” in total ease. I did not regret my choice, and actually I ended up wearing that special dress on multiple occasions and it always brought back fond memories. FYI, that dress is still in my closet!
So now, if the idea is titillating you, here’s 5 glorious dresses that would still impress your guests and I think, your groom especially… because he’ll get to see you wear it again!
The Milan Dress is made of 100% Viscose. I love the long sleeves, gives you the option of wearing it in colder seasons too! It also comes in other shades, you don’t have to stick with whites, right?
More summery and fitted, here is Reformation Thistle Dress also available in red. This is a lightweight drapy crepe fabric with a dry hand feel – 53% viscose, 47% rayon.
Annaborgia is fully vegan, and the Stella Dress is sartorially made in Italy with non-toxic dyed satin Japanese polyester. Four playful cords are tighten at the neck revealing an open back. The plus with this flawy lined dress is that you don’t need to dry clean it. You can simply hand wash it or, a gentle laundry cycle will do!
The Heaven & Heart Maxi Dress is a blend of polyester and spandex for a fitted look. The playful back is balanced by the front plunging v-neck décolletés.
If you were waiting for a more Boho option, I got you covered. Here’s Love Spell Maxi Dress from Free People. A blend of various vegan textiles (cotton, linen, nylon, viscose) this is your perfect pick for your gypsy style wedding.
And did you already find the dress of your dreams? Please share in the comments your suggestions (use the link below this post title), as I’ll keep scouting for more beautiful cruelty-free wedding gowns.
A feminist and independent spirit since she could remember (her childhood heroines were Pippi Longstockings and Katharine Hepburn) Daniela Degrassi found her creative outlet as a lifestyle photographer, working mainly in Northern California where she lived for 15 years before moving back to her native Italy to continue to be her autistic sister’s primary caregiver. Vegan since 2014, she found a perfect way to carry her message of compassion while celebrating her love for the wedding industry launching The Kind Bride in February 2018.
