Last month, Bohyne announced its collaboration with the philanthropic fashion accessory brand, Rice Love. Inspired by the brands ethos to do the most good, and as little harm possible, the collaboration was a natural fit for the two companies. Both of which focus on humanitarian action through fair trade production of their products.  

For every item sold online from Bohyne’s Deadstock Collection, 25 kilos of rice will be donated through the partnership with Rice Love. To date, Rice Love Bags has already donated over 50,000 kilos of rice to those in need. Rice Love has the goal to give 1 million kilos of rice by the end of 2024. We hope that through our collaboration, we can help achieve this goal sooner.


To emphasize the potential to do good and help others, 1 kilo of rice can feed a family of four for approximately one month. According to BRIDES Magazine, every year, an average of 2.4 million weddings are performed in the U.S. Even despite a global pandemic, that leaves plenty of opportunities for couples to use their big day as a vehicle to do a whole lotta good.

Rice is an extremely important and culturally relevant part of people’s diets across the Eastern parts of the world. In India alone, 200,000 people suffer from starvation daily. Supplying rural villages with accesses and resources has long since been a part of Bohyne’s brand mission.

Working exclusively with a cooperative in Cambodia, Bohyne’s gowns, slip dresses, jumpsuits and other garments are handcrafted by Indigenous people with little to no resources. Combining our fair trade manufacturing processes with ethically-sourced fabric for production, and top that off with a massive philanthropic pledge and you have the embodiment of Bohyne as a company.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Bohyne has stepped up to supply face masks to those in need, support social justice movements, and signal-boost the impending bridal revolution. During these times and going forward, Bohyne invites couples and those to-be-wed to consider how ethical choices in their wedding can improve the lives of others globally.
