At this time of the year I am usually soaking up the Californian sun and enjoying my favorite vegan treats of the San Francisco Bay Area with my partner. Alas this summer I will have to give up my favorite vegan burritos and Cinnaholic buns, not to mentions some good old cuddles.

Traveling anywhere in the United States at the moment seems like an unnecessary risk to take; so I am staying put in Italy, where the pandemic situation seems a bit more in control at the moment.  The summer has exploded here with all its humidity and bad hair days, but there are plenty of beautiful places and peaceful nature scenes where it’s quite easy to practice social distancing and feeling a sense of normalcy.

With the little extra time on my hands, I decided to explore ways to be more active on The Kind Bride Community. These past few months have been so tough on wedding professionals, and unfortunately the situation is showing no clear end in sight in many parts of the world.  Couples had to postpone their wedding plans, with complications that are not just financial but also emotionally overwhelming after months and months of planning.  My heart goes out to all of you.

During the pandemic, my team and I have tried to stay as current and helpful as possible with our blog features, and this summer we’ll continue to focus on this unprecedented situation. And, we want to do more!

On July 3rd, The Kind Bride is launching a series of Live Instagram Q&A feeds with wedding professionals that will answer your questions!

Each week we’ll be talking with vegan and vegan friendly wedding vendors that will focus on a specific topic.

Sophie Barry of Events by Sophie will be our first panelist on July 3rd. We featured Sophie on our recent “5 Black Women Owned Vegan Wedding Businesses” and it will be so nice to reconnect with Sophie to talk about a very important topic, “How to Include Culture into your Wedding”. Sophie will share some insights and answer your questions on how to design your wedding remaining mindful of your true essence, celebrating diversity and what makes you unique, even if you’re just planning an elopement at the moment!

How can you submit your questions to Sophie? Well, you can simply head over The Kind Bride Instagram account or Sophie’s and send us a Direct Message or comment anytime during the week when we’ll be promoting the event on both our feeds or stories. Sophie will answer your questions during The Kind Bride Instagram Live feed on July 3rd at 2pm Eastern Time (11am Pacific Time, 7pm British Summer Time)

Every following week we’ll promote the next Live Q&A feed a few days in advance so you’ll have time to send in your query. This July we’ll also be featuring:

Ashley Peters:   Our beauty expert Q&A topic will be “Bridal Hair During Covid-19”. Ashley will share how to find hair inspiration, booking with confidence & without a trial or hairstyling during the Pandemic. Tune in The Kind Bride Instagram Live feed on July 10th at 2pm Eastern Time (11am Pacific Time, 7pm British Summer Time)

Michelle Ray of Michelle Ray Photography: Michelle is one of our latest blog team member additions and with my peer photographer we’ll talk about on “How to make Formals Fun” (or even possible during Covid-19!). It’ll take me back to memory lane! Tune in on The Kind Bride Instagram Live feed on July 17th at 2pm Eastern Time (11am Pacific Time, 7pm British Summer Time)

Our beauty expert Kim Higgins of Eye For Beauty CT will take your questions on “Bridal Make Up during Covid-19” on July 24th at 2pm Eastern Time (11am Pacific Time, 7pm British Summer Time)

Ingrid of Consciously Connected Travel: Ingrid is a recent connection and her company focuses on Impact Travel & Wellness with purpose, creating a synergy between Travel & Philanthropy, allowing your travel footprint to affect change, support growth & create hope around the world.  I find this concept so amazing that I wanted to know more about it… stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Ingrid on the blog coming up very soon. During our Instagram Live Q&A with Ingrid, we’ll be taking your questions on “Honeymoons during Covid-19”. Tune in on The Kind Bride Instagram Live feed on July 31th at 1pm Eastern Time (10am Pacific Time, 6pm British Summer Time)

With this amazing line up, I can’t wait to dive into our Instagram Live Q&A with the Vegan Wedding Vendors on July 3rd!  It’s great to witness, despite the difficulties everyone is facing, how the wedding community is finding new creative ways to run their businesses and staying positive. Stay up to date with the complete summer calendar on our Instagram Live Q&A event page that we will update with new episodes coming up in August and September. On that page we’ll also share the links of our Live Sessions if you miss it.  Feel free to reach out if you have an interesting topic you’d like to share or help our audience with!

Something extra I’m working on this Summer… our Vegan Wedding Directory is getting a make over! As our listings keep growing, it was time to add categories to each single State. It’ll be easier to find a specific vendor in your area from now on. It’s still a work in progress but Australia, California, Florida, Washington DC and UK pages are completed. I know my Summer will fly!

An incurable enthusiast and independent spirit since she could remember (her childhood heroines were Pippi Longstockings and Katharine Hepburn) Daniela Degrassi found her creative outlet as a lifestyle photographer, working mainly in Northern California. Currently splitting her time between SF Bay Area and her native Italy to continue to be her autistic sister’s primary caregiver. Vegan since 2014, she found a perfect way to carry her message of compassion while celebrating her love for the wedding industry launching The Kind Bride in February 2018.
