With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it just seems right to blog about Mom. Yes, when wedding planning hits, the world seems to focus on the big day and all the details that go into it. I assure you, if you’re stressing, so is mom. Wedding planning aside, you’re getting married! Mom is feeling 100 emotions at once; let’s shift the focus a little bit and give mom much earned TLC.  It’s always good to slow down and enjoy some time together. Take note, Grooms, this isn’t just for the Brides:

Explore somewhere new

Near, far, wherever you are 😉 Take a trip together. Explore somewhere new. Make brand new memories and take lots of photos! One thing mom’s tend to love more than the actual memories is  a scrapbook to look back on.

Make a special brunch/dinner together

Think of all the things your mom taught you, return the favor in a fun way! Pick your favorite recipe, a childhood favorite or maybe something totally new. Gather all of the ingredients and have them ready for use. Cooking together is probably something you’ve done before (or not) but it’s easy to make it special by adding a bottle of wine or choosing a dish that is out of the norm. I, especially, love this idea for moms who maybe are not familiar with vegan cooking–this is a great way to share, experience, and learn all while having a great time together. Want to avoid the dishes? Search online for a vegan cooking class to take together!

Evening with Mom

Ah, shopping–can’t go wrong there. Treat her: help her pick out an amazing new outfit and take her to a night out on the town.

Animal Sanctuary Brunch/Volunteer

Check out your local animal sanctuaries! Around Mother’s Day, many host special brunches honoring all animal mom’s human and non-human alike ;). Not Mother’s Day? Take a day to volunteer or tour an animal sanctuary. It’s always a productive way to spend your time. If mom is not familiar with veganism, this is a great opportunity to share with her in a productive way.

Spa Day!

You don’t have to go to a fancy spa resort to get good quality natural products. More and more vegan-friendly spa treatments are popping up around the country. Search your area for day packages–you may be pleasantly surprised! No better way to relax than with a nice long massage, after all.

And from all of us at The Kind Bride… Happy Mother’s Day!!!
