We did it! Last Sunday, Verte Luxe and The Kind Bride hosted the World’s First Vegan Bridal Fair in the beautiful settings of The Bel Air Tree House in the heart of Los Angeles. It was a fabulous sunny day, without the daunting heat that characterized the days leading up the event. We were surrounded by the magical energy that The Tree House naturally exudes. We are so grateful to all the wedding suppliers that made history with us and I wanted to thank them all while sharing a few highlights of the event on today’s feature.

The three story boutique hotel owned by Hedda Leonardi was decorated in domestic garden roses by Rose Lane Farm beautifully arranged with her unique designs by Fibers and Florals. Event planners Amethyst Event Productions provided a WOW factor with their sustainable yet glamorous dinner table setting that blew away every guest, including Ashley Fronhert, Social Media Manager for PETA  (to which we donated part of the event proceeds). Ashley came to share her experience planning her own vegan wedding and provided many helpful tips to our audience.

Irresistible appetizers were provided by Scandylous Delights team (the tacos and mozzarella sticks were a total hit!)  paired with a variety of vegan wines provided by Scout and Cellar. The Pizza Plant delighted our Dinner with Press with Jalapeño poppers and keeping pizza coming out of their food truck in a variety of delicious flavors (my picky Italian palate can vouch for it) while Pink Salt Cuisine created a divine charcuterie tray filled with vegan cheeses and spreads that had everyone go for seconds, thirds and fourths…

All of our vendors serving food used compostable plates and napkins and wine was served on small mason jars. Sustainability was a major part of our event, and we spoke more about the importance of reducing waste at weddings with  Amethyst Event Productions and Opus Events Co.  Our panel also included Everlasting Vegan Events, sharing tips on what to watch out for when planning a vegan wedding (it’s just not about the food!); photographer Michelle Ray, talking about the hidden animal products in photography practices and products; and clean vegan beauty experts Rebecca Casciano and Dr. Lily Ros, sharing their knowledge and tips on plant based make up and offered complimentary consultations to our guests.

And let’s not forget we also hosted a Pop Up filled with shopping opportunities from beauty to bling!  SudSource is one of Verte Luxe favorites. And I can see why they are so appreciated! Besides being organic and vegan, the brand is also eco friendly for their refillable practices that saves on the unnecessary and harmful waste of single-use packaging! Kristina Athey displayed a wide variety of vegan friendly Arbonne products. We were proud to showcase  Almaza Jewelry fine rings and jewels locally handcrafted using 100% recycled metals and raw, rose cut conflict free diamonds. And The Noces raffia handbags were just the right touch for those already thinking about their honeymoon in sandy beaches.

The venue floors were delighted by the presence of Silviyana Couture models wearing eco friendly wedding gowns made of banana leaves from the Philippines (stay tuned for a featured interview with Silviyana’s founder Seychelle Wilmouth very soon!) styled in luxe and handmade bridal accessories by Katabanko Couture and the new Venus sandals by Veerah (both recently featured on The Kind Bride). Of course, we couldn’t leave the vegan groom behind. All the way from Chicago we displayed the stylish tuxedos from The Groomsman Suit and had the honor to showcase their revolutionary new look: a sleek women’s tuxedo, that will soon unveil on The Kind Bride through a collaboration with Opus Events Co. and more of our event wedding suppliers. I promise it’s worth the wait!

Photographers The Hendrys proudly displayed their new vegan photo albums and prints (a recent find through an East Coast supplier!) while videographer Courtney Roberts of Wild in Lace (yes, our very own blog contributor!) captured highlights of the day on videocamera that we’ll share soon! Courtney wowed everyone with her video album box, another ground-breaking vegan friendly product we were able to showcase at our event. Our very own vegan bride Alexandra came to cheer for her photographer Eve Rox.

Donut Friend not only supplied energy during our event set up with their delicious donuts but also donated a $100 gift certificate as one of our raffle prizes. Maya Eco Tours donated an adventurous nature excursion in Tulum, Mexico and The Pizza Plant offered a rehearsal dinner for a lucky bride and groom to be!

A big thanks for the music and the energy to Special DJZ team, most especially to the lovely Cali Miles, their vegan star! And thank you to Vegan Nom Nom Tours for joining us at the very last minute, with their fantastic vegan food tours you’ll have a chance to know more about on The Kind Bride in the following weeks.

We joyfully handed out many gift bags with lots of jaw dropping goodies from the suppliers in the house (the matcha chocolate cupcakes from Aliment Kitchen were one of my favs!), and a few from far away, like our own blog contributor and destination stylist The Stylist Abroad and Wanna Date? gluten/nut/soy free spreads.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent a few hours getting to know our amazing vendors. Not only they are talented professionals, but are such caring individuals that believe in connecting on a personal level while helping you plan your compassionate wedding.  It was especially heart warming to see them happy to come together as a community for this unprecedented event.

And now, where will The Luxe and Kind Bridal Boutique land next? Stay tuned!
