Blue met Dani in Bristol in a bar ironically called the ‘Brass Pig’. Within a year of meeting each other they decided to quit their jobs and book a one way ticket around the world! They traveled and worked in places such as India, Sri Lanka, Borneo, Lombok and Australia for around 18-months. It was on that journey and after spending time working with and tending to animals that Blue decided to become vegan and Dani became vegetarian.
Their experiences around the world definitely influenced their relaxed, boho vegan wedding style. Their celebrations took place in Devon, at Hayne Farmstead, an enchanting venue of rural feel and romantic gardens.
Dani’s purchased her Watters wedding gown at Angel Face in Newton Abbot, a bridal boutique that started as a social enterprise using their profit, networks and business activity to improve the lives of people who have least opportunity and to protect the skills and creativity of their industry.
Blue wore vegan shoes by River Island while the bridesmaids were dressed in Asos.
Local Eran’s Kitchen provided a full vegan banquet for Blue and Dani:
Vegan canopies – Vegetables and Quorn (vegan) Kofta, served with fresh Mini Pitta Bread, Green Tahini, Chili and Coriander sauce
Starters – Selection of Artisan Breads & Pitta Bread, Hummus with Tangy Chickpeas, Warm Tahini and Herbs, Giant Cous Cous Tabouleh with Pomegranate Seeds, Spicy Heritage Carrot Salad, Edible flowers

And according to the bride and groom, Eran’s Kitchen served the best Middle-Eastern Eton Mess!
The Vegan banoffee wedding cake was prepared by Kat Mann and the couple gifted sunflower and lavender seeds for people to plan as wedding favors.
I am very happy I got to share some magical moments from Blue and Dani’s wedding. Blue’s transition to a vegan lifestyle also inspired him to create a vegan enterprise with an important social impact. He is the Founder of Kings Grooming, an ethical aftershave fragrance and grooming brand with a mission to empower men to live healthier and happier lives. The company funds men’s mental health projects and are committed to raising awareness around the subject. All Kings products are registered Vegan & Cruelty Free, a certified Made in Britain, contain no palm oil or parabens and are made using natural essential oils. Their Kickstarter campaign was a complete success and their products will be available soon on their website. I’ve already been featuring them in my post 5 Vegan Gift Ideas For Your Groomsmen.
Last, but not least, I want to thank Helen Lisk for allowing me to share her beautiful images from this wedding, and you can see even more of her captures from Blue and Dani’s vegan wedding on Helen’s own blog.

A feminist and independent spirit since she could remember (her childhood heroines were Pippi Longstockings and Katharine Hepburn) Daniela Degrassi found her creative outlet as a lifestyle photographer, working mainly in Northern California where she lived for 15 years before moving back to her native Italy to continue to be her autistic sister’s primary caregiver. Vegan since 2014, she found a perfect way to carry her message of compassion while celebrating her love for the wedding industry launching The Kind Bride in February 2018.
