Vegan lingerie is alive and kicking. With the latest surge of sustainable textiles it has become way easier to find brands that skip the luxe feel of silk and thrive by transforming natural fibers into sumptuous lingerie that coincidentally is also vegan friendly. For our utmost delight!

Being this a bridal focused blog, I chose to include brands that have a strong esthetic and sensual style while still looking comfortable and practical.

Guide To Vegan Lingerie

Please note, a couple of companies I featured do use materials that are not vegan, in a small quantity. I decided to include them anyway because of their sustainable practices and because, in some cases, their user friendly websites make it easy to spot the material used for each design. Throughout the article though, I will definitely alert when you should be on the look out.

Lost in Wonderland offers sensual lingerie made and sourced in Europe. Since the brand presented its first collection in Paris in 2013 Lost in Wonderland works on steady and sustainable growth offering an alternative to fast paced fashion.    Furthermore Lost in Wonderland abstains from using silks or animal skin as luxury fabrics and trimmings for many reasons.

Besides being 100% vegan, their style is a mesh of sultry and minimalism that I really love.

Luva Huva is an all women run company based in UK with a strong belief in the value of eco-friendly and handcrafted clothing, celebrating pretty, feminine style. Luva Huva  promotes UK fabric manufacturing and production developing garments made of materials such as bamboo, soy, hemp and organic cotton. All brilliantly soft and breathable, these fabrics enjoy tremendous environmental advantages. Hemp, soy and bamboo require no herbicides or pesticides to grow and are among the most sustainable crops around.  Vegan and eco-friendly approved!

Sokoloff Lingerie designs and manufactures fine lingerie 100% made in Canada.  Created by designer Sofia Sokoloff, the label breathes delicacy, confidence and comfort, while driving an ethical production model. The undergarments are recognized for their exceptional fit and their high standards of craftsmanship. They are vegan approved by yours truly, since the materials used for their design range from nylon, rayon, spandex (for elasticity) and a lovely brushed micro-suede, 100% Polyester.

Focused on offering refreshing unstructured soft-cup bralettes, bras and panties, the brand promotes a natural look and a positive body image forgoing padding and enhancing natural curves. Playing with layering and transparency, the underwear highlight your body as much as your clothes.

Underprotection is a Danish brand based in Copenhagen and founded in 2010. The purpose of the company is to create underwear styles that makes you feel fabulous while showing that fair fashion made in sustainable fabrics do not have to be boring or less fashionable.

Underprotection designs two collections a year, which includes lingerie, loungewear and swimwear all made in sustainable materials and produced in a certified factory. I really appreciated seeing a detailed description of  all the textiles used in a dedicated section of their website. Besides recycled polyester, lyocell and organic cotton (vegan),  Underprotection uses (on a few designs) milk fiber and recycled wool which are not vegan, but throughout their shop galleries they make a point to highlight the material used for each item so it’s easy to spot their vegan friendly styles.

Helena Stuart founded Only Hearts in 1978, creating fashion’s first “Inner Outerwear” collection and revolutionizing under garment dressing to come out and be seen. Today Helena, working alongside daughter Kaya, offers a full range of lifestyle lingerie from sexy sweet undies and bralettes to sleepwear, lounge and wear-anywhere wardrobe staples. Sensuous, natural and just a little bit naughty, Only Hearts is proudly manufactured in New York City using local, deadstock and certified made in green textiles.

Their website even offers a Bridal shopping gallery, listing garments  made of Nylon, Metallic, Nylon, Spandex, which are vegan; and some silk items (not vegan). Other items throughout their online shop do not display what textiles they are made of.

Only Hearts are still worth a mention because they do use a number of recycled materials that otherwise would end up being wasted. If you don’t have the patience or are unsure about the textiles used, know that Only Hearts vegan friendly items are also sold on Azura Bay (see listing below), which may make your shopping experience a bit easier.

Azura Bay is a curated collection of luxurious and socially conscious lingerie, swim, and loungewear brands. I love that they made things so easy for vegan shoppers, having a section dedicated to all vegan items and you will find brands like Only Hearts, Sokoloff, Cosabella, Underprotection companies that are not strictly vegan but offer some vegan options, easily accessible in one online shop.
