The best friends are the ones who support you no matter what. That’s why, you asked these girls to be your bridesmaids. Even if they support your choice to be vegan, they may not be. So, without being pushy (that never works, does it?), why not showing them that a vegan lifestyle is filled with awesome product choices? I’ve researched 5 cool, useful vegan gift ideas your bridesmaids will surely appreciate!
COSMETIC BEAUTY BOXES
Beauty boxes are a great way to introduce your bridesmaids to cruelty-free cosmetics. Be mindful, cruelty-free doesn’t necessary mean vegan. Cruelty-free defines a product that has not been tested on animals, but may still contain animal by-products (like gelatin, lanolin, collagen). The suggestions below are 100% vegan. Also, some of these companies allow you to make one single purchase, so you don’t have to worry about paying for a continuing subscription, but of course, your girlfriends may love this gift so much that they will be the ones signing up for a continuos restock!
LOVE GOODLY in USA, offer a one-time beauty box purchase at $35. All products are cruelty-free, organic, non-gmo, eco-friendly and vegan.
THE CRUELTY-FREE BEAUTY BOX in UK, they also offer a one-time box purchase.
I read great things about VEGAN CUTS and PETIT VOUR, and I want to mention them even if they don’t offer a one-time purchase. Both offer a limited time (3 or 6 months) subscription at a still reasonable value if you feel like pampering your girls a little longer, and perhaps it will be a guarantee to keep them on their best behaviour 🙂
Another option I can think of, is to make your own beauty box (or basket!) with products you already tested and love. But know that, some of these companies I mentioned, as you will find out visiting their website, donate part of their profit to animal organizations and sanctuaries. I love shopping for a cause!
If you support the latest strong surge of ethical jewelry, you’ll be happy to discover many conscious brands hosted by vegan online boutique BEAD&REEL. Supporting artisan made, female founded, eco friendly designers, this unique boutique holds a bountiful of ethical standards. You can shop from their vast jewelry selection something that matches your girlfriends personality. From bold ‘wonder woman cuffs’ to delicate long earrings, and much more… the choice is yours.
I’ve seen plenty of pashmina baskets in my ‘past’ wedding photographer life and I am ‘oh so glad’ that there is now an excellent vegan alternative to cashmere. Once again, BEAD&REEL comes to the rescue. The Aashi Bemberg Scarf for example, is made with 100% Bemberg cotton, which is made from the linter fiber of the cotton seed. This fabric has the look and feel of silk but with the lightness of cotton. Featuring a beautiful digital floral print, each scarf is handmade in India through certified fair trade processes.
And of course, there is more to choose from on Bead&Reel website.
The Vintage Vow specializes in providing vintage inspired getting ready attire. Their mismatched flannel shirt sets were created to offer bridal parties something fun and comfortable to wear while they get hair and makeup ready on the wedding day.
Made of cotton and recycled fabric they are 100% sourced in the USA. Oh, and if you are more of a minimalist (like me) they also come in one color shades.
You’ll be spoiled for choice visiting VELVET HEARTBEAT website. Handmade in New Zealand from the finest cruelty-free materials, industry surplus, vintage components and upcycling you can shop for cross-body and mini bucket bags (just adorable!), backpacks and pouches.
Any vegan fashionista will be familiar with MATT&NAT. The Canadian company has been around since 1995. I love that my favorite purse, the Abiko clutch, is under $100. Your bridesmaids would love it too.
I’ll continue to explore and post more gift ideas occasionally, and I welcome you to share your suggestions below (to add a comment click on the link under the post title). Thank you!

An incurable enthusiast and independent spirit since she could remember (her childhood heroines were Pippi Longstockings and Katharine Hepburn) Daniela Degrassi found her creative outlet as a lifestyle photographer, working mainly in Northern California. Currently splitting her time between SF Bay Area and her native Italy to continue to be her autistic sister’s primary caregiver. Vegan since 2014, she found a perfect way to carry her message of compassion while celebrating her love for the wedding industry launching The Kind Bride in February 2018.
