We could spend hours discussing the PROS and CONS to bring your furry family member/s to your wedding, so before we jump into dog wedding attire, I am assuming that you have made the choice to have them join your special day after considering whether:

  • the wedding venue is pet friendly – an outdoor wedding where they can get dirty and muddy may not work in your favor
  • they will be well taken care of  – assign someone that will look after them at all times, you don’t want them to accidentally jump on your wedding cake!
  • they will feel comfortable and welcomed – way easier if the wedding has a limited number of attendees.

Now it’s almost time to find the right outfit to make them feel extra special… First though, do consider if your pet is comfortable wearing coats or sweaters, before planning to slip him into a tuxedo. If you are unsure this article on Pet Life Ca has some great insights on the topic.

Florida based, Olivia’s Doggie Design creates elegant custom fit tuxedoes using the highest quality fabrics (mainly cotton), and can be matched to the wedding party.

Doll up your dog ‘Made in Italy style’ with Bow Paw Tie. This Italian brand uses soft cotton for their adorable tux harnesses. There is more to explore on their Etsy shop; their wedding dog shirt and bow tie collars are vegan friendly, but watch out for other items containing silk organza. Always double check fabric contents to make sure, or contact the vendor to see if they can replace silk, or ask if the silk comes from synthetic fibers.

Wag & Swag focuses on everyday dog wear, but if your dog’s style is one of a minimalist, you’ll love their colorful harnesses, collars and leashes in vegan leather that could complement your wedding color theme. This Toronto based brand stand by three main principles making sure each product they make embodies them: Functional, Fashionable, and Financially feasible. Luxury that won’t break the bank, isn’t that a sweet concept! Vegans: you may want to pay extra attention when shopping for their bow ties: some are made of wool, and some don’t list the fabric content on their website. Do send an inquire online if you’re interested in a particular item that doesn’t have further content description.

Not a pet focused brand, Print Smitten & Co creates custom gifts and keepsakes out of Pennsylvania. I just had to mention their personalized dog tags, that you can order especially if your dog is not keen on wearing a fancy tux. And while you’re on their Etsy shop, you may want to take a peek at their other items, like their wooden wedding ornaments (makes a fine wedding favor!), wedding stamps and more gift ideas.

Kimlinh is a ‘star reviews’ Etsy seller is based in Germany that can provide the cutest vegan-friendly bow ties: from the classic white or black and polka dots to glittered or a heart shape pattern for Valentine’s Day that can be super cute worn at a wedding too!

California Paws specializes in cotton bandanas that you can customize with any wording or wedding date. Perfect look if your furry friend is a wild-at-heart or a bohemian!
