Vegan brides are blesses with the best wedding cakes! Not only tasty and beautiful to look at, vegan desserts are usually healthier options, not containing any of those nasty and dangerous saturated animal fats, which clearly don’t belong in our diet. 

I am sure many regular bakers will comply to a request to ‘veganize’ a wedding cake, but with this post, I want to celebrate 5 wedding cake artists from around the world, and learn about their life journey leading them to baking these fabulous cruelty-free cakes that sparkle so much joy at a party!




‘Rawism’ is a dietary practice of eating only uncooked, unprocessed foods. It is considered by many the purest form of nutrition. So, we can conclude that while eating a raw cake we are not just pleasing our taste buds but we’re also doing a favor to our overall health. A dream come true… guilt-free desserts!

Lisa Harding was diagnosed with chronic fatigue when she was only 18. After 6 years enduring anti-depressant prescriptions she knew she had to find a natural alternative to cure her condition. She healed herself through a long process of testing and eliminating processed foods such as gluten and dairies and along the way she found her passion for raw desserts.

She now runs Love Raw Self in Perth, Australia since 2016. By looking at her cakes it’s hard to believe that not only they are vegan and raw, but also 100% gluten and refined sugar free. While she serves her community offering a vast selection of cakes and small bites that are available in local shops and online,  the preparation of her wedding cakes require a consultation with the bride and groom to customize a cake that matches their personal taste and wedding theme.  Lisa usually decorates the cakes on the wedding site to also match the atmosphere of the reception venue. Follow Lisa on Instagram for your dose of daily magic!





Ruby’s love for baking began at a very early age with many of her childhood memories made in the kitchen. Due to a childhood dairy and egg allergy she was often left with the uninspiring free from option while looking longingly at the birthday girls glorious cakes. That’s where her passion and flair for edible works of art began and she has been creating ever since. She had been baking vegan products for many years when she decided to take a stall at Greenwich Market in London. It was an instant success.

Ruby’s is dedicated to producing high quality products using only the finest ingredients, making products taste as delicious as they look. A true believer of the importance of the handmade element of baking,  this is central to Ruby’s business ethos, therefore everything is freshly made to order.

In 2013, Ruby’s was honored with the British Baker Product Innovation Award. Danielle Konya, founder of Vegan Treats is a passionate animal rights activist and for the past 15 years she has been convincing a vast East Coast audience that vegan desserts are heavenly delicatessens.

Baking as Activism? Who would’ve thought? Danielle always says, “Compassion starts with your fork”. Indeed, the very lucky residents of NYC, Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia anxiously await her deliveries at area restaurants and cafes each week. (People have been known to plan their days around the arrival of her doughnuts!)

Bramble was founded by Chef Miel Bredouw. She began her professional career at 13 with her own specialty dessert company. She had her first restaurant job by 15, and continued her working education through the next nine years, including time at the acclaimed Natural Gourmet Institute in vegan pastry.

Her commitment to animals is complimented by environmentally friendly packaging and seasonal, local, non-GMO fruits and herbs whenever possible. With her team she create a conscious option so that every birthday has a cake, every holiday a treat, every wedding has a centerpiece, and that everyone has a delicious, sustainable option.

Some of Miel’s signature creations are Ombre Rosette Cake, alternating layers of coconut and chocolate with salted caramel filling and London Fog Cake, alternating mocha and coconut layers, filled with pressed fudge macaroons and coconut buttercream. Our quick trip around the world takes us back to Australia, this time on Sidney’s shores.
